Origin of the surname

History

Generation 1

Sarah Ann HASLAM, was baptised in 1833 in Dronfield, Derbyshire. Her parents were Godfrey HASLAM and Julia (nee ROPER). Sarah Ann married Mark HAVENHAND in 1856 in Sheffield. In 1852 Sarah Ann had a son, Joseph, in Chesterfield Workhouse. When they were discharged there was a note against her entry 'with care promising'.

Godfrey was baptised in 1810 in Dronfield, the youngest son of Godfrey and Sarah (nee CROFTS). Godfrey married Julia ROPER in 1831 in Sheffield. Julia died in 1837 and Godfrey married Margaret in 1839 in Sheffield.

I have an additional 3 generations back to Samuel, who was buried in 1747 in Eckington, Derbyshire, due to the help of one of my correspondents.
