Ellis BODDY was baptised in 1797 in Scalby, Yorkshire (now
part of Scarborough). She married Joseph COCKERILL
in 1820 at Scalby and died in 1841 in Harwood-dale (a small village
or hamlet north of Scalby) soon after the birth of my gg-grandmother,
Annie.
My BODDY ancestors, traced mainly by a cousin can be traced
back to Middleton, Thornton Dale, Lockton and possibly Pickering
on the North Yorks Moors. The earliest date is 1605 (place unknown
to me, but could be Pickering).
I am interested in all BODDY's in the area as the tree itself
is starting to branch out rather a lot and there are small pockets
of BODDY's in the Bridlington area who may belong, but I have
insufficient evidence to connect them.
