Eleanor MURRAY was baptised in 1784 in Kirklinton, Cumberland.
Her parents were Charles MURRAY and Elizabeth ARMSTRONG, who married
in Kirklinton in 1783; Charles signed as MORRAH. I know nothing
else about Charles and he does not appear to have been baptised
in Kirklinton.
Eleanor had a son, John HOLLIDAY,
by John HOLLIDAY in 1815
and she appears in the 1851 census in her son's household as a
widow, but with the surname of MURRAY. She also had a son Thomas
by William JOHNSTONE in 1826. Thomas appears as John's brother
in the 1851 census under the surname of HOLLIDAY, but in the 1861
he appears as Thomas JOHNSTON.
